Sunday’s Preview - The Rich Man & LazarusRead Luke 16:19-31 Jesus tells the story of a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus — a tale of comfort and suffering, of seeing and not seeing. What does it mean to notice the needs right in front of us? How do we bridge the gap between comfort and compassion? Join us this Sunday as we explore how God's grace calls us to cross the divide and live with open hearts toward those in need. Lenten Worship
This year, our Lenten theme is "The Way of the Heart," inviting us to walk the path of Christ with open hearts, walking with Jesus at the Stations of the Cross. For step of the stations marks a deep meaning of Jesus and his journey to the cross – the mission of his self-emptying love for us. Come and begin the journey and walk with him. Wednesday evening meals are served from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Worship is from 6:30pm-7:15pm. |

Lenten Practices
What is Lent? It’s the season of the church year we commemorate Jesus going into the wilderness for 40 days just after he was baptized. Lent is a time of spiritual renewal and going into the wilderness of Jesus. It’s often associated with deepening spiritual practices like fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. These intentional spiritual practices are meant to lead to spiritual renewal and prepare us for Holy Week as we journey to the cross with Jesus. Family Promise - From the Board of Directors
Good morning, this is John Sutton on the Board of Directors for Family Promise. It has been a bit since I provided any updates from the Board of Directors. We have several items to share with you that I hope you find interesting. As many of you know we have two families currently enrolled in the transitional housing program, that is staying at churches while they take steps to stabilize their lives and move into permanent housing. We the Board are committed to continuing this program. We realize that each of you have taken on more hosting dates that has placed an extra strain on your recourses. We are actively seeking other churches to bring into the rotation. I will gladly reach out to any church or other organization that any of you can suggest to open discussions about hosting families. The Board has begun planning another fundraiser dinner like the one we had last year. We are planning on holding the event in August so look for more updates as we get closer. I will gladly put anyone that would like to help in touch with our fund-raising committee. Just have them drop me a line or call my cell. We are also making plans to bring back the Bed Race, in 2026. Family Promise Giving Day will happen 4/22/2025. We will be sending information to churches as well as sending information to regular donors on the event as it gets closer. Remember that 100% of what is given to Family Promise of New Braunfels is used to help families right here in New Braunfels. Many of you have asked about an executive director. Well, we are actively seeking a director and have hopes to fill the position in the near future. In the meantime, Board members are working closely with the two staff members to keep the program running smoothly. I'm making another appeal for help with transportation of the families. Without public transportation, getting families from the day center to childcare, to churches and jobs is expensive when we have to use Lyft or Uber. Some of you may remember the van that was used for several years. We have it but lack drivers. Do you know anyone that would like to help our families get around town? Perhaps you know someone that is a early bird or someone else that has an afternoon or evening free? Let me know and I'll reach out to them. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Thank you and your churches. John Sutton 830-387-9777 |

StewardshipJourney to Generosity: The Way of Jesus March 30 – Lent 4 Luke 15:12 – “And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them.” This prodigal son only sees the father as a source of wealth. “Give me my inheritance now!” he says, which is really to say, “You are better off dead in my eyes.” This is the sin at the heart of all greed: valuing things over people. This parable calls us to come to our senses as well, and to see God as the loving Giver of all good, the true Father to be valued above and beyond all the things of this world. |

God's StorytimeSunday Morning Worship with Our Children All Pre-K through Elementary grade children are invited each Sunday to join us for “God's Story”. This is our way of connecting God’s big story to their own stories at a level appropriate for young children. Together we dive into the scripture for the day using a variety of teaching resources. Our goal is to create a safe space for children to have meaningful conversations about God, Jesus, faith, and our everyday lives. “God’s Story” takes place during the scripture and sermon portion of our worship service (about 20-25 minutes). We meet in our Fellowship Hall, which is in visible proximity to our sanctuary and restrooms. The children are led by our wonderful team of trained and background checked adults from our congregation. |

Peace Ministries
PEACE PRAYER MINISTRY: Did you make any resolutions for the New Year? Many of us have a desire to have a more intimate prayer life, so might I suggest carving out more time for prayer and reflection? Peace Lutheran Church has an active Prayer Ministry. We have an Email Prayer Chain, we have a Zoom “Sweet Hour of Prayer” Group that meets every Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. and we have a Prayer loom that is included in our Sunday morning prayers. I would like to welcome new members to join our email Prayer Chain and our Monday morning Prayer Group. We have experienced some amazing, answered prayers this year and we have given comfort to many of our members in their times of distress. Please consider being a part of our Prayer Ministry in this new year. You can email me at beckyvoges@yahoo.com for more information. Our weekly Prayer Group Zooms every Monday at 9:00 am via Zoom only. Click HERE to join by Zoom. We have a devotion, share prayer requests and pray over each request. The group is led by Becky Voges. Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
