The Care Team was established to Care for members and their families of Peace Lutheran Church. Part of the Outreach Ministry Team, Care Team reaches beyond members to others in the community and world. Some of the Programs the Care Team is doing: Senior Ministry - a way to get the Senior Members of our congregation together once a month, either in a social setting or in an educational format. We have taken trips to see the fall leaves, Amazon Facility in San Marcos, and Painted Churches, just to name a few. We have had lunch together and learned of aging concerns, played games together, and shared in each others' lives. Currently, during this time, the Care Team has tried to reach out to every member of our congregation in either a phone call, email, or snail mail. It is our goal to have every member connected to another member in some way. When we live out our mission at Peace, to love God, Love People and Serve the World, the folks on the Care Team feel as though caring for our family at Peace Lutheran helps us to live out this mission. There are many opportunities to share in this team from praying for one another, sending cards, making phone calls, or becoming a Eucharistic Minister and sharing the love of Christ with one another.
The Outreach Team strives to bring down the walls of our church building so our neighbors and our community will know what we are all about. We plan public events such as an “Annual BBQ”, “Blessing of the Animals” and the “Live Nativity”. This is done on our front lawn so that all who wish to join in can do so in a non-threatening way. Sharing the love of Christ with all people is our #1 objective.
