As most of you already know, I’m leaving for North Carolina next week to start my new call in at Calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton, NC. With the catastrophic damage unleashed by Hurricane Helene, the need for assistance to that part of the country is critical and immediate. Since I’m already driving a U-Haul to North Carolina, I thought it would be a good opportunity for our congregation contribute to the relief efforts.
The three things that we are collecting are Hurricane Clean Up “Buckets”, comfort kits for children and cases of bottled water. The Hurricane Clean Up Buckets (see attached file) come with clear instructions and a complete list of supplies. Relief agencies ask that these kits please be packed as indicated, with no items missing or other items added. This way they know that every Hurricane Kit is complete and ready to be distributed to relief workers in the cleanup process. Donations of Hurricane Clean Up Buckets, children’s comfort kits (see same file) and cases of water may be dropped off at the Peace office between Monday morning through Thursday at 10:00 am, which is when we’ll load the truck and I’ll head to North Carolina. Whether it is through prayer, monetary donations to relief agencies, or bringing supplies to load onto the truck, thank you for extending your love to our neighbors in their time of need! God bless!
