Sunday's Worship PreviewVision Read John 9: 1-41 Jesus heals a man born blind, provoking a hostile reaction that he regards as spiritual blindness to the things of God. There are lots of stories about God giving sight to the blind. In the most famous hymn ever written, “Amazing Grace,” the lyrics repeat this healing act of God: “I once was lost but now am found; was blind but now I see.” The ability to see is not vision. Vision comes when Jesus opens our eyes to a new reality to see what he sees. Join us on Sunday as we too experience this eye-opening gift of grace. |
Vision with Peace in Lent
As a part of our visioning discernment together as a faith community, we are tuning into God’s dream for the world. Each week in Wednesday worship, we are asking a question for you to respond to. Our dreams are then put in a Word Cloud to be shared visually, as well as input to our Vision and Leadership Teams. The Word Cloud above are the dreams we shared in response to the question, "God, use us to..... |

Vision Board Workshop - God-Sized Dreams: Come Dream with God for PeaceApril 16 @ 11:30am until 2:00pm And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time. Habakkuk 2:2-3 (The MSG) You are invited to come and create a Vision Board for Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 16th from 11:30 AM til 2:00 PM. There will be a free-will offering lunch. You have been invited by Pastor Jake and the leadership teams of Peace Lutheran to listen for God’s whispering voice of what God has in store for Peace Lutheran.
What is a vision board? It is a visual and written representation of our prayerful hopes, dreams, goals, and promises from God for our future. This is a creative process, and we encourage and invite all, including kids to come and participate.
We are looking for OLD magazines and newspapers that can be donated for this project. You can drop them off in the designated area in the church narthex.
Register HERE by April 12th.

Exploring the Bible TogetherZoom Bible Study every Tuesday from 6:30pm -7:30pm In our “Exploring the Bible Together” study, we meet by Zoom as a small group for about 45 minutes each week. Our study covers a wide range of topics, examining more closely the history, content, context, development, message, and interpretation of the Bible. As we do this, we grow in our understanding of the relevance and application of the Bible for our lives today.
We have begun a new study series on the Gospel of Matthew. This church year the majority of our gospel readings will come from Matthew. It is a beautiful writing which shares the story of Jesus in a powerful way.
Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience with Bible study (or even the Bible) is necessary!

Three Expressions of the Church
We are part of one church body organized in three expressions — congregations, synods, and the churchwide organization. Each expression has its particular functions but all three together share a common mission of doing God’s work in the world and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Together, they ensure a solid foundation of leadership, active involvement in communities, opportunities for dialogue and diverse perspectives, creative partnerships, and support for members and ministries of the ELCA.
